Scholarship Program
Since 2007, the NVSBC Scholarship Program has supported and opened doors to newly established veteran business owners who focus as federal contractors or subcontractors.
The NVSBC Scholarship Program brings together a diverse cohort of veteran business owners who aim to receive training, networking access, and grow their emerging business by participating at NVSBC's programs throughout the year both in-person and virtually.
Scholarship recipients are provided unique and valuable opportunities to support their business growth and professional development.
- 4/7/23 is the LAST DAY to submit your application.
- 4/21/23 is the date by which applicants will be notified as to whether they have been approved to receive a NVSBC Scholarship.
Benefits:
- 1-year organization membership to NVSBC
- If you’ve already joined within the last 12 months, NVSBC will cover the next 12 months after your renewal date as part of the scholarship.
- Free admission to ALL NVSBC networking & training events for 1-year
- Travel only included for VETS23 Conference
- Recognition and promotion at VETS23 Opening Ceremony, NVSBC events, website, social media, email marketing
- VETS23 Conference
- Registration, 3 Nights Lodging, Travel Expenses, Food
- Opportunity to network with other veteran business owners, prime contractors, and government agencies to gain the knowledge needed to do business with the federal government
- Additional opportunities for connections & mentorships available
Qualifications:
- Applicant must:
- Be a veteran and majority owner of the business as evidenced by SBA’s verification, VA’s CVE verification, or other certification acceptable to NVSBC.
- Have a business established within 3 years application.
- Have a primary focus on federal contracting as a prime and/or subcontractor.
- Submit a typed essay, no more than 2 pages in length, addressing:
- Goals as a business owner.
- How attending the VETS23 Conference will contribute to reaching those goals.
- What participation in specific NVSBC programs will do to support their goals.
- Submit one professional reference letter.
- Commit to quarterly 1-hour (virtual) huddles with cohort & NVSBC staff
